The Washington Center (TWC)
TWC offers student the invaluable opportunity that combine study abroad and an internship into a single summer term. Get international exposure that will be useful in any career choice.
General Information for TWC Internship (DC Internship used as a general example but students can participate in the international program)
- The student will intern in a federal agency and take one course.
- The student earns 15 credit hour awarded through EKU
- TWC provides an apartment in DC for the student (for the international program students will be provided a fully furnished living area in which they will live with other students).
- EKU can send five (5) students per semester and summer to TWC
Costs
- TWC costs $10,000. Once accepted by TWC, the student automatically gets a $4,000 scholarship from EKU. The student pays regular tuition for the semester.
- Financial aid applies; going through the program is just as if you are attending EKU itself.
How to apply:
- Students will apply for TWC via their website at http://www.twc.edu .
- TWC will then contact the faculty advisor for approval. The student is then accepted or denied on the faculty advisors decision.
- The deadline for applying is typically mid-November, so gets started as early as possible!
