Kentucky Legislative Research Commission (LRC)

The LRC gives undergraduate students the unique opportunity to work with a legislative committee and learn the basic skills of drafting bills, conducting public policy research, and providing support for legislative committee meetings. Students will be given a behind-the-scenes look into the General Assembly that few people are afforded.

LRC Undergraduate Quick Facts:

  • The LRC undergraduate program will run from January to early May. This will include an orientation prior to the opening of the 2010 session of the Genreral Assembly.
  • Students can earn up to 15 hours worth of credit depending on the university. The student earn credit by attending two (2) weekly seminars.
  • To be eligible a student must be a junior by January 2010, have a GPA od 2.8 or better ona four-point scale, and have been active in campus activities.

  • Notification of selection will be sent out before May 1, 2009..
