Ben Chandler Internship

The Chandler Internship grants one lucky student the opportunity to work in Chandlers office in DC. This is a valuable opportunity to make contacts and gain an intimate understanding of the Capitol Hill environment.

  • The student will intern in Chandler’s office and take one course.
  • The student earns 15 credit hour awarded through EKU
  • TWC provides an apartment in DC for the student (for the international program students will be provided a fully furnished living area in which they will live with other students).
  • There is only one Chandler internship per semester. The Chandler intern should also do the TWC for financial reasons.

Costs:

  • The Chandler intern who goes through TWC also gets $4,000 scholarship from EKU.
  • The Chandler intern also gets $4,000 from Chandler.
  • Additionally, they receive $2,000 from the Provost.

The Process and Due Dates:

  • Faculty advisor selects two (2) candidates for the Chandler internship no later than November 1st.
  • The Faculty advisor then notifies the Chandler people and then co-ordinates and interview with the two students and the Chandler representatives.
  • The representative will then pick ONE (1) student and the Faculty advisor will notify both students.
  • If the student that is selected has not already applied for the TWC they should immediately apply.
